Have you ever heard of blue light rays? No, not the laser beams you see on television! We’re talking about Ultraviolet rays or UV rays, they are harmful to eyes and we can’t see them. UV light can burn your skin just how the sun can. It makes sense since blue ray light also comes from the sun. The sun is a source of the full spectrum of ultraviolet radiations which is commonly subdivided into UV-A, UV-B, and UV-C. Even though UV-A and UV-C are both very harmful they mostly get aboard in the atmosphere making them less harmful. Even though 95% of UV-B rays are absorbed by ozone in the earth atmosphere. UV Light is still dangerous and can cause waste and demise of retinal pigment epithelial cells and  the demise of light sensitive cells can cause irreversible loss of vision. It could also cause eye cancer. There is a type of sunscreen that can protect you from UV rays and it is called “Zinc Oxide”.

A solution

Most people that would like to protect their eyes from blue light rays, wear blue light glasses. The blue light filter decreases the amount of blue light on the screen of your device. Blue light suppresses your body's production of melatonin which can make it hard for you to sleep. So filtering blue light would also help you sleep better. Filtering the blue light will also put less strain on your eyes so you will not feel as tired and strained at the end of the day.

Blue light harms our eyes by damaging the retina. Did  you know that people spend around 5.4 hours a day using any device of any sort .

In Conclusion, UV-B rays are HARMFUL and you need to protect your eyes.
